It's the end of Volunteers Week, and what better way to mark a celebration of our fantastic team than to share their experiences?
Saj, one of our wonderful Digital Advice Coaches, shared her story about how she came to volunteer with us:
"I first got involved with Citizens Advice after I visited the Longsight Digital Advice Hub to get some help and information. After I'd been helped with my problem, I asked if there were any volunteering opportunities and applied to get involved.
The application process was really easy and straightforward; just a short online application, an information session and a short interview, and I got training on how to become a Digital Advice Coach. Joining the team has been great too - everyone is really friendly and they've been very welcoming. I feel quite passionate about the work we're doing, so sometimes i can be difficult to stay calm when I hear people's stories about the troubles they're facing, but I'm learning from other members of the team!
Volunteering has been really good for me; it's really boosted my confidence. As a mum of three, I haven't had an opportunity to do anything like this for a while, so it's been great to get back into the community and helping to give something back. I'd really urge other people to get involved and apply to volunteer - there are different roles you can take on"
