Get Digital Smart!

As part of our Digital Smarts programme, we have a team of Digital Champions who are available to help you to develop the skills and confidence you need to get online. This includes preparing for and maintaining your Universal Credit claim. See below for the ways we can support you to get digital smart!

Universal Credit Digital Support

One of the key differences between Universal Credit and the old style benefits system is that Universal Credit is claimed and managed online. To claim the benefit you need to have an email account and access to the internet. You will also need to be able to check and update your online account on a regular basis to maintain your claim and avoid being sanctioned.
